Cottage Health’s Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp

This summer, Change for Balance proudly partnered with Cottage Health for their annual Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp! With a necessary pivot to a digital version of camp, it was our joint mission to ensure all campers had an immersive, interactive experience with their fellow campers and leadership.

This year's virtual camp provided recreational and competitive opportunities for youth and young adults ages 6 – 29 with physical disabilities who use, or could use a wheelchair to participate in sports.

Change for Balance produced a special segment for the campers featuring Wesley Hamilton, an activist who was recently featured on CNN and Netflix’s Queer Eye. We also hosted a segment with award-winning actress and disability advocate Nicole Lynn Evans, who introduced the campers to an exciting film challenge that they took part in throughout the week with her guidance.
